CLIMBING
MOUNT MERU (4566 METERS) - 3 DAYS A fairly sporting climb to the high
summit, after observing the black and white Colobus living in the very
lush forest of Arusha National Park.
MOUNT KILIMANJARO (5895 METERS) - 5 TO 7 DAYS
A dream for most of us! But easily accessible for any person who exercises regularly and is in good healthy.
Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa at 19340 feet (5,895 metres)
• Kilimanjaro is the highest free-standing mountain (i.e.
distance from the bottom of the mountain to the top) in the world.

most sought-after peaks on each continent on the planet.

• Kilimanjaro is located in Northern Tanzania, bordering Kenya, in East Africa.
• Kilimanjaro has five different, non-technical routes up the
mountain that take between five and seven days, not including rest
days. These routes are Marangu (Five days), Machame (Six days), Shira
(Six days), Umbwe (Five days) and Rongai (Five days).

Rongai) and one route (Marangu) with hut accommodation provided by the
National Parks.

FLYING

BUSH WALKS AND HIKES
Most of the walks can be arranged in what we call the Crater
Highlands. This range of old extinct volcano encomprises the famous
Ngorongoro Crater, Oldeani Mountain, Olmoti Crater and Empakai Crater.
OLMOTI CRATER
A fairly steep 45 minutes climb to the Crater rim for a view of
the scenic beauty of the river and Olmoti waterfall escorted by Park
Rangers. A guide will talk about the lush vegetation and the numerous
animals’ prints.
Return by the river trail.

MOUNT MERU
From Arusha it is possible to spend a day hiking on Mt. Meru,
with arrival at Mariakamba Hut where the group will meet their vehicles
waiting with picnic lunches.

EMPAKAI CRATER
Facing Oldonyio Lengai, this is the remotest of all the craters.
The road is quite difficult during the rainy season and rough during
the dry season but it is a nice destination for adventurous incentives.
From the rim, the path descends in the crater, passing through a
very dense forest, and ends by the shores of a big lake. Thousands of
flamingoes are there, giving a deep pink color to the shores. A good
day for the wild at heart. The hiking group size has to be limited to 6
clients per armed Ranger escort.

GIBB’S FARM WATERFALL
A fairly steep walk that is often a welcome break after long drives in a minibus.
A guide accompanies walkers.

LAKE MANYARA HIKING TRAILS
The trail will start at the lodge and take guests down a
beautiful river valley where they would have the opportunity to swim in
a fresh mountain stream.

OLDEANI MOUNTAINS
A range of walks to satisfy any level of fitness, up to a four
hour climb to the summit for a view of Lake Eyasi and its flamingos.

LAKE DULUTI
A relaxing 1.5 hour walks around this charming lake, observing
its very rich birdlife from the shade of the shoreline forest.
